First, Google's new language tools are impressive - enough to assume that they will be used by non-English speakers as an interface to English content. Second, the English Wikipedia has by far more authoritative content than other language wikis, and its content is certainly to be used with Google translation. In RTL script wikis (Arabic, Hebrew, Farsi) the navbar is set to float left. But Google translation of English wiki pages to RTL output doesn't handle the floating navbar, which remains on the right, obscuring the body text, which likewise remains adjusted to the right. This is likely something that Google should handle, but this would involve rewriting a specific div tag, which, without a particular identifier to mark it would seem hard to do.
Depends on the skin but I'm pretty sure the sidebar portlet has an id.
