Description Brion Vibber 2008-10-12 18:36:18 UTC
Once we've got a standard storage for geographic coordinates, we need to expose that in an API search so it can be used in a definitive way by handheld apps and other goodies.
Comment 1 Roan Kattouw 2008-10-13 17:34:28 UTC
Is this information even stored in the database? If it's not, this can't be done efficiently.
Comment 2 Sam Reed (reedy) 2012-02-09 23:08:37 UTC
Isn't this now done with the extension Max has written?
Comment 3 Brion Vibber 2012-02-09 23:52:35 UTC
Should be, though it's still in progress as I understand.
Comment 4 Kelson [Emmanuel Engelhart] 2014-10-24 15:26:44 UTC
Seems to work now, for example:
https://en.wikipedia.org/w/api.php?action=query&list=geosearch&gsradius=10000&gscoord=37.786971|-122.399677
