http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schneeferner has a missing image at the top if not logged in. It is missing if accessed with http://de.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Schneeferner&stable=1 and present if accessed with http://de.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Schneeferner&stable=0 http://de.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Schneeferner&oldid=48526147 has the picture and http://de.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Schneeferner&stableid=48526147 doesn't show it. The image has been moved to Commons after the last revision, which *is* sighted (unlike bug 16736). There is no possibility to sight the article, and it doesn't show up on the lists of unsighted/oldsighted pages.
The image was deleted and a copy uploaded on commons. As far as the software is concerned the referenced image was removed, so it outputs a link. Re-sighting the article with the image should work. Also, only pages can be sighted, so commons images with no local page cannot be sighted.
(In reply to comment #1) > Re-sighting the article with the image should work. Nobody will re-sight such an article because there's no indication that it needs sighting (other than the broken image). And it isn't listed on the page with articles that need re-sighting.
