Description Derk-Jan Hartman 2009-08-15 11:09:38 UTC
for some godly annoying reason, the XiphQT plugins for QuickTime don't register their mimetypes, and thus "native" playback is not possible on Mac OS X atm.
Comment 1 Derk-Jan Hartman 2009-08-15 11:14:00 UTC
Apparently this is an issue with QuickTime and MIME registrations.
http://wiki.xiph.org/XiphQT

"Load QuickTime Player, then navigate menus QuickTime Player -> QuickTime Preferences -> Advanced -> MIME Settings .... open the Audio group, uncheck the two Ogg entries, then press OK. Then reopen MIME Settings ..., recheck the two Ogg entries, press OK again. I found that I needed to toggle them like this in order to get the correct config stored."

Michael, should this be unassigned from you now that OggHandler was replaced by TimedMediaHandler?
Comment 3 Derk-Jan Hartman 2013-04-21 13:37:45 UTC
It seems that embedded player support for Safari was fully dropped since then, so we can close this as wontfix.
