The new upload form of mediawiki 1.16 uses the 'u' key as an accesskey to the upload button. However this key is already in use by the portlet link 'Upload file'.

On my local wiki it is still an s. What is your MediaWiki:accesskey-upload?

That is a local change made on the English Wikipedia. On other wikis it is still an s, see for example http://test.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=MediaWiki:Accesskey-upload&action=edit.
