Description Itzik Edri 2010-07-24 22:50:02 UTC
Hi,

1. We need a close mailing list for the teams leaders for Wikimania (something like "Wikimania-Teams").

2. We need another general mailing list for the volunteers and the teams.. I don't know if wikimania-planning-l is OK for that and the people there will be ok with emails in Hebrew between the teams.. so for your decision if to open a new one or we will work on that one.

Thanks

I'm assuming that you (itzik [at] infra [dot] co [dot] il) want to be the initial list administrator.

Or maybe wikimania-core? (As in the "core team".)

Personally, I think it's best to use our existing mailing lists and think it would be okay to have discussion in Hebrew on that list.

OK - Say lets create Wikimania-Core and we will use the exiting list (Wikimania-Planning-l) to other discussion..

Thanks

I want to discuss this a bit more. Firstly, what's going to become of this list after Wikimania 2011? Is this just going to be in use through 2011 -- that is, will the 2012 team have access to the data on the list? If not, then maybe a temporary list can be made.
Comment 4 Itzik Edri 2010-08-19 22:38:42 UTC
The Wikimania-Core need to be temporary list. no archive, or need to be deleted after Wikimania 2011.
Comment 5 Cary Bass 2010-08-24 16:32:30 UTC
I'm going to create list wikimania-2011-core list, no archive, private list. Okay?
Comment 6 Itzik Edri 2010-08-29 19:34:58 UTC
yes, thanks.
Comment 7 Cary Bass 2010-09-04 05:16:04 UTC
In retrospect, I believe Wikimania-core is absolutely suitable. Since there are no archives, it's perfectly reasonable for the same list to be used from year to year. Hopefully someone will document that somewhere.

Itzik, I have made you list admin. The list information page is at <https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikimania-core>
