I think the new field is missunderstood as it only should be selected when an issue belongs to a specific browser (shouldn't it?).

In the newly filed bugs with this field (https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/buglist.cgi?query_format=advanced&field0-0-0=cf_browser&type0-0-0=notequals&value0-0-0=---) there are some non browserdependent.

Today the tooltip for the field just shows "A custom Drop Down field in this installation of Bugzilla.", which is a bit useless.

Does anyone even use this field? can we just turn it off again?

Looking at the BZ admin panel, there isn't even a field to do that...

This is not possible yet with bugzilla. Their enhancement request is 728138 :

Upstream fixed in Bugzilla 4.4 - reopening and setting lowest priority.

I have added this description today, now that we run Bugzilla 4.4 which allows that:
"Please set this if the described problem seems to happen only in a specific web browser."

Closing as FIXED.
