See bug 17471. Basically, per consensus at http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Village_pump/Archive/2009/02#Default_our_search_box_to_.22Search.22_instead_of_.22Go.22 the system was modified so that hitting return on the keyboard uses the "Search" function rather than "Go." This makes a lot of sense for an image database where you rarely know the particular name of something you're searching for. However, it is annoying when you do know the specific title of the image you want. For instance, if you type "File:Wikipedia-logo.svg" in the search bar, it takes you to http://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special%3ASearch&search=File%3AWikipedia-logo.svg&fulltext=Search rather than http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Wikipedia-logo.svg. Clearly, in this instance your intention is to get to the file directly. If possible, I would like, when hitting "Enter" in a search box, for queries without a namespace to default to the "Search" option as it is now, and queries with a namespace to be reverted back to using the "Go" option. This was brought up in the subsection "Comments" of the linked discussion and received general support, but was brushed off to the side as less important than the main issue being discussed and never raised again until now.
This doesn't sound like a site request so much as a feature request for the MW software.

Works for me: on Commons, File:Wikipedia-logo.svg in the search box + Enter goes direct to the file page, Fil:Wikipedia-logo.svg or just Wikipedia-logo.svg goes to search results.
