Currently, the MediaWiki core doesn't use styles specific for mobile devices, e.g. smartphones and the like. There's support for Wikimedia sites via Wikimedia Mobile, but all other MediaWiki installations don't have that. It would be nice to integrate this into the core because mobile support also matters for other wikis with the growing importance of these devices nowadays.
