Description MZMcBride 2011-05-25 14:59:39 UTC
At some point the LiquidThreads labs wiki disappeared. It used to be located at <http://liquidthreads.labs.wikimedia.org/>. It had a lot of discussion on it about issues with LiquidThreads. It's also linked from bug reports, etc. It'd be nice to get it back.

According to Platonides:
> The server admin log says that on 1st of March Tim moved
> liquidthreads.labs.wikimedia.org from all.dblist to deleted.dblist, so
> that its brokenness will offend people less
Comment 1 Hydriz Scholz 2011-06-04 15:14:06 UTC
From what I can recall, it had some PHP error, which was probably due to LiquidThreads and I *think* I was the last user accessing the site.

I was bugging the developers on IRC that day about that error, which might have made Tim do this move.

Can someone check if the DB was actually deleted? Getting an XML dump would be enough, we could then reimport discussions on mediawiki.org (where they should always happen in the future, probably; see https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Test_wikis ).
Ariel, can your magic get a dump?

Old dumps are here: http://dumps.wikimedia.org/liquidthreads_labswikimedia/

Hah! It was so simple... Thank you very much.
The last non-failed dump is http://dumps.wikimedia.org/liquidthreads_labswikimedia/20100703/ , when was the wiki shut down?

Self-reply: 2011-03-01, as mentioned in comment 0. When was the last activity on it though? I'm not sure it's been inactive for 8 months before that, I do see some threads I was looking for though.
Comment 6 Ariel T. Glenn 2012-08-24 05:44:57 UTC
For some period of time dumps failed due to a bug in lqt; that's why we don't have any complete dump more recent than 2010.
Comment 7 Nemo 2012-08-24 06:26:58 UTC
Ariel says that the mentioned bug is fixed but dumps can't be run if the wiki is in deleted.dblist, at least the DB is still there.
Roan, Tim, can the wiki be restored as read-only (like the other labs wikis)? If it can't be maintained in the long term, at least for the time needed to generate a dump?

I guess so. Adding the wiki back to all.dblist would probably work. I'll work on this on Tuesday.

OK, so it's Wednesday :) . Done now, see https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/22848

After a bit more poking, the wiki now runs. There might still be bugs, if you see any please report them here.
Comment 11 Nemo 2013-04-07 21:30:09 UTC
The wiki was killed again with Change-Id: I22aa3d52147d741faa12b4f3273c6720a5b57d51

However in the meanwhile the dump scripts generated a lot of dumps: http://dumps.wikimedia.org/liquidthreads_labswikimedia/
I saved the last one at https://archive.org/download/wiki-liquidthreadslabswikimediaorg_w/20130228.zip/
