When filling in a form with a datepicker field, using the browser's (in my case Firefox 4's) autocompletion on previously typed values, causes the value not to be saved, although it shows in the field as if you had typed it in manually.

Do the following to reproduce:
- Type in 2011-06-03 into a datepicker field, save the form
- Open the form again, delete the content of the datepicker field, save the form
- Open the form again, and start typing the same date
- Notice how your browser offers the previously typed value, 2011-06-03.
- Click this offered value
- Notice how 2011-06-03 is in the field, as if you had typed it in
- Save the page
- Notice how the the field is still empty

sounds like a bug in firefox, really.

I just perfectly reproduced it with Chrome 12.0.742.100 beta-m.

I tried to also reproduce it with IE8, but for some reason the autocompletion didn't work there in the datepicker fields (no suggestion came up at all), so I couldn't reproduce the bug there.

Just had a look at this. It only happens if you select a value with the mouse, keyboard works fine. So my guess is, that the datepicker only monitors keypresses.
