The etymology of Welsh chwith TeX file

The BibTeX importer is either not interpreting or having trouble resolving certain macros.

In this example:

http://acawiki.org/Yr_hen_iaith:_studies_in_Early_Welsh

The title is being rendered as:

The etymology of Welsh extit{chwith} and the semantics and morphology of PIE extit{*k($^{w}$)sweib$^{h}$-}

The original LaTeX may resemble something like:

{Schrijver~(Peter): The etymology of Welsh \textit{chwith} and the semantics and morphology of PIE *\textit{k(\textsuperscript{w})sweib\textsuperscript{h}}-.}

which in HTML could be represented as:

The etymology of Welsh <em>chwith</em> and the semantics and morphology of PIE *<em>k(w)sweibh</em>-.

The attached TeX file was lifted from http://bill.celt.dias.ie/vol4/tex/displayObject.php?TreeID=2796 and is included here for reference only.
