Description Aaron Halfaker 2011-06-20 20:27:29 UTC
When using the new account creation wizard on enwp... After modifying the default text in the text box labeled "tell us about yourself" and clicking "Create my userpage" the default text (that had been deleted) is pasted into the edit pane.

Expected behavior:
The text that I wrote in the account creation wizard would be carried over to the next screen.

Actual behavior:
The default text was carried over anyway.

I can confirm this -- was creating a new account on en.wiki and filled out some quick information about myself in the friendly "tell me about yourself" box. It didn't carry over and I had to re-enter that text.

I thought the account creation wizard used jira for their bug tracker(?)

cc'ing stwalker, I think he's involved with the account creation stuff (Could be totally wrong about that, if I am please ignore).

@Bawolff - this bug report is relating to a completely different system entirely (and hence is nothing to do with me). Yes, WP:ACC uses the toolserver's JIRA instance, but this isn't ACC, this is the account creation improvement project (I think).

BTW: Bug experienced in Chrome, Ubuntu Linux 11.04 64bit, JS enabled.

Hmm, one of those semi-secret foundation projects I've never heard of ;) cc'ing Frank Schulenburg since he is listed at [[mw:Account Creation Improvement Project]], in the hopes that relevant people will see this. (/me wonders why this doesn't have a bugzilla component)

I wonder if this just isn't one js file - moving to "MediaWiki/User login" for the time being.

Anybody knows if this is still an issue?

This userpage wizard no longer exists on English Wikipedia, so I think we can close this?

No feedback, hence assuming so. Please reopen if this is still an issue.
