It is nice to get a placeholder for the inputbox in the same way, as the search field of the vector skin. Maybe the placeholder for the inputbox should work for all skins. Thanks.

I had a bit of a d'oh moment earleir ;) Originally I thought you meant you can specify __SEARCH__ in [[mediawiki:sidebar]] to specify where the search box goes on MonoBook, but looking back it now seems obvious thats not what you meant :)
