Right now I'm trying to upgrade a sizable MW 1.16.5 installation using the web ui and there is no indicator of how much time this will take or even that stuff is being done. Some sort of progress indicator is necessary or, at the very least, a warning that large installations will take a very long time and it is better to use update.php.
Hmm... it _should_ push out more data from the update progress as it comes along. Is it bunching up until the end? Or are some of the steps just not producing output while they run? (A spinner at least sounds wise, I forget if there's one in there already.)

I just remember it sitting forever. > (A spinner at least sounds wise, I forget if there's one in there already.) *At least* a spinner. But I hope we can do more than that.
