Description anminh2008 2011-07-31 08:34:55 UTC
To integrate the math formulas support (Extension:Math) to the core MediaWiki software
Comment 1 p858snake 2011-07-31 08:54:45 UTC
It was removed for a reason, Can you provide a good justification as to why we should move it back in?
Comment 2 Jack Phoenix 2011-07-31 09:08:44 UTC
I see no reason to move the math stuff back into core. Extensions like CheckUser, Renameuser and whatnot should be moved to core before even thinking about moving the math stuff back. Suggesting WONTFIX.

For users' convenience.

That isn't really a good explanation to try and get us to reconsider merging it back into the core package, plus there is no difference to the end user if the site administrator installs and enables the extension when they update to 1.18 in the future.

Its currently useless for most installs in core because it requires third party dependences to be installed and activated which is why it was removed from the core package.
