Description anminh2008 2011-07-31 08:47:10 UTC
Addition of arbitrary-precision mathematics (including SVG plotting) support to the core MediaWiki software
Comment 1 Dan Collins 2011-07-31 17:31:50 UTC
Can you be a little more specific? Are you suggesting that the parserfunctions for math be made to support arbitrary precision, or that a utility for directly entering SVGs be provided? It would be a little clearer what you're suggesting if you gave a situation in which it would be useful.

Both. To enhance the MediaWiki parser and to provide a free alternative of proprietary computer algebra systems.

Mediawiki is not a computer algebra system. Even if it was, that's not the same as arbitrary precision mathematics.

Note that MediaWiki has support for extensions, you can implement most if not all functionality you like from an extension without it having to be changed in MediaWiki core package.
