Description Tyler Romeo 2011-08-01 17:44:51 UTC
I'm currently working on revamping [[Extension:SecurePasswords]] to include client-side JavaScript asymmetrical encryption (for https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=20187). However, unlike Special:Userlogin, there is no hook that is run so that the necessary JavaScript can be added. Could we either add a hook or maybe there is some other hook that would fulfill the necessary functionality?

Woops, I know I linked the extension wrong. My apologies.

You know what, never mind, implementing a comprehensively secure login system for Wikipedia can't be done through an extension. Dealing with client-side encryption is just too difficult since there are no ways to hook into the WebRequest class. I'm going to work on a solution that works with the core instead.
