I'm guessing this has something to do with
https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/meta/w/index.php?title=MediaWiki:Common.js/secure.js
Comment 2 Max Semenik 2011-08-03 09:38:18 UTC
It's caused by site JS (bottom of [[m:MediaWiki:Common.js]]).
Comment 3 James F. 2011-08-03 09:49:55 UTC
Have fixed the site JS - thanks - but shouldn't this behaviour be expected generally (convert outbound Wikimedia links to SSL when from SSL)?
Comment 4 Nemo 2011-08-03 22:36:27 UTC
Same problem on wikimania2011 wiki.

I think this is going to be fixed soon with the new SSL interface.

There's also an RT on making https://etherpad.wikimedia.org/ serve etherpad instead of the blog. Then the JS can point to SSL.
