Description Vitaliy Filippov 2011-08-04 14:13:59 UTC
LiquidThreads has a bug when used with WikEd (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Cacycle/wikEd).

How to reproduce:
1) click "create new thread"
2) click "show changes"
3) enter something
4) save

Result:
Thread will be duplicated.

Hi Vitaliy! Sorry that nobody has taken a look at this report yet and given feedback. I tried to confirm this on test2.wikipedia.org, but I could not use the WikEd toolbar on LiquidThreads. I installed the Greasemonkey script for WikEd, and confirmed that the toolbar shows up when editing a page, but when I tried to create a new thread or reply to an existing thread, the WikiEditor (https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:WikiEditor) toolbar would show up even though I disabled it in my preferences.

If you have time, could you please update to a recent supported version and tell us if this problem still happens? If this still happens, please add a comment to this report and tell us either your exact software version in case that you know (by updating the "Version" field of this bug report), or on which wiki the problem can be seen. You can find out about your version by going to the Special:Version page, such as https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Special:Version .

If the problem does not happen anymore at all, please set the status of this report to RESOLVED > WORKSFORME. Thanks a lot for your help!

I'm not too happy with the idea of coding extensions around weird behaviour with user scripts/gadgets/etc. If this is still an issue it's probably something that should be looked into from the wikiEd side of things.

It is a gadget that can be enabled on the English Wikipedia, and there is a preference in test2 to enable WikEd, but when I enabled the gadget on test2, the toolbar wouldn't show up like it would on en.wikipedia. I installed the greasemonkey script so the toolbar would show up on test2.

Regardless, the toolbar doesn't show up when using LiquidThreads because the WikiEditor toolbar is used even if I have it disabled in my preferences, bug 29681. So I would say this report is blocked by bug 29681.

Vitaliy, you can also report this on WikEd's support page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Cacycle/wikEd

Adding dependency to bug 28761 (dup'ed); however the problem reported here should really be re-evaulated and fixed *in WikEd* once bug 28761 is fixed (which is valid and remains an open, unresolved ticket).
