Some images are showing up pink(!) in Firefox, but not in other browsers (tested in Chrome and IE). Compare http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/archive/c/c9/20110608174253!Yul-brynner-immigration-xl.jpg in different browsers. This happens with several of the files I am working in the National Archives file set. The files also appear normal in Photoshop and Acrobat.
It's a problem with the file, not with our setup (maybe it has a color profile which firefox ignores?). Please report the bug to firefox developers: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/
Bug 30214 turned out to be kind of a mish-mash of old broken thumbnails with color profile info missing (from before resolution of bug 19960), and the images *with* color profiles misrendering in Firefox. These files have at least some versions with a 'Nikon D2X generic' profile which Firefox 5.0.1 renders waaaay too pale on both Mac OS X 10.7 and Ubuntu Linux 11.04: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Overijse_Processiestraat_kerk.jpg http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Overijse_stationsplein_ZZO.jpg http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Overijse_school_Processiestraat.jpg The file up in the summary has an 'Adobe RGB' profile.
I assume there isn't anything for us to do here, but I added a note to https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=797656
