Copying from [[mw:Thread:Talk:Article feedback/IMDB rating: Only consider trustworthy users/reply (6)]] "I think the dashboard should provide checkboxes and selection boxes (such as those from [[Special:RecentChanges]]) so that it allows one to get (and create links to) different reports from the ratings collected. For example, a user accessing the dashboard could have the option to generate lists after defining options such as these: ----------------------------------- Consider ratings from: * [ anonymous | registered | self-identified expert | all ] users * users registered [ N ] [ days | weeks | months ] ago * users who have [ rated | edited ] more than [ N ] articles [ | since his/ her account was created | in the last [ week | month ] ] ... Exclude articles having: * Less than [ N ] ratings in the last [ N ] [ hours | days | months ] (see suggestion on thread [1]) * [ Less | More ] than [ N ] bytes * ... ----------------------------------- So, once the users know which combinations of parameters generate the better metrics about the articles, these values could be used as the default on the dashboard." Another option which may be useful for editors when analyzing the ratings was mentioned on a thread on MW.org [1]: getting data from specific categories (this could be used by specific wikiprojects). So, in the list of options above, it could also be added something like this: ----------------------------------- Consider ratings from: (...) * Category [ ______________ ] (...) ----------------------------------- [1] https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/mediawiki/wiki/Thread:Talk:Article_feedback/dashboard_sorted_by_categories_or_Wikiprojects%3F
(In reply to comment #0) > Exclude articles having: > * Less than [ N ] ratings within the last [ N ] [ hours | days | months ] The need for more options like this is evident if we look at * [[pt:Special:ArticleFeedback]] * [[pt:b:Special:ArticleFeedback]] because it only considers "articles that have received at least 10 ratings within the last 24 hours" and this makes the page to be **always empty** on Portuguese Wikipedia/Wikibooks. Isn't possible to provide **at least one option** which makes the dashboard to be non-empty on Portuguese Wikipedia? https://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Especial:ArticleFeedback?uselang=en So far, we have not seen any article to be displayed on on that page since the installation of AFT =(
By the way, where is the issue of using an IMDB-like system summarized? Blind averages are known to be broken but there are no easy solutions, I suppose the AFT team decided something about this.
The extension homepage at [[mw:Extension:ArticleFeedback]] says "This extension has been archived. The following other choices are still available: [[mw:Extension:ArticleFeedbackv5]]" Furthermore, ArticleFeedback (version 4 or earlier) was removed from all Wikimedia wikis in https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/98074/ It is currently unlikely that there will be any further active development of ArticleFeedback (version 4 or earlier). Closing this report as WONTFIX to reflect reality. Please feel free to reopen this report in the future if anyone takes the responsibility for active development of ArticleFeedback (version 4 or earlier) again.
