This took me quite some while to figure out, since the Server just aborts the connection and I had no chance of getting an error message or even debugging it. I had a Template which I couldn't call anylonger, always the connection to the server was canceled. Calling it with &action=edit still worked. I was able to call the page normally again after removing something like this: [[Prop::asdffffaj sdklfjl asdlf jaölsdfjl ökasdjflkö jalksdjf klasdlfj lssasdfas dfasd fasdf asdfasdfasdfasdf asdf asdf asdf sadfasdfadsf safffffff kasdöfl kasdjlkf jasldjflkj alsdjlföj alsdjfl jalsdfj asdljfj lasdjfl ajsdfl jalsdfjl asdjflkj aklsdfj lkajsdf ljalsfffdjf lkasdjfl jasdljf laösdjföl jaölsdjfl jaösldkf lajsdlfasdf asdf asdfff asa sdf asdf asdf asdfasd fasfdsaasdfasdf]] where Prop is a property of type Text. When I shortened the string it worked as well, don't know what's the exact length when everything goes nuts. Doing the same with {{#set:}} worked just fine! It didn't work with [[Prop::...|]] though. Tried to re-create the error in the sandbox but there it works. Perhaps it's fixed in 1.6 already (can't try it right now) or it is because of different server environment, this seems rather strange to me. I had this running on Win XP in XAMPP with PHP 5.3.5, MW 1.17 and SMW 1.5.6 Any idea what this is all about?
I've not seen such an issue before. What type is this property? In any case, if it cannot be reproduced on 1.6 and later, I suggest you simply upgrade to that version :)
Can't upgrade right now because I have some Extensions of my own which I have to migrate first. This also doesn't happen on my 1.16 MW on a linux server with same SMW version. Type of the property is 'Text'! I guess this is some Windows related problem or anything, it's so strange there is no error message at all, just the server canceling everything.
I am closing this now as there does not seem a way to reproduce this on current versions of SMW.
