There is one checkbox per reference. This is a usability problem when there are a large number of  20+ references (which is common).

The user must check a box beside each BibTeX reference they would like to import.

Since BibTeX files often include a large number of references (20, 50, or more), "select all" and "select none" checkboxes are needed.

I'm interested in helping out with this bug. But I'm having a hard time finding the repos. Please help me find the source.

Appears the repository was not migrated when Creative Commons (which was hosting it for ancient reasons) migrated to github.

I put it up at https://gitorious.org/acawiki/bibteximport and edited https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:BibTexImport (pending change).
