Can we have a small keyboard icon like how IBUS has, additionally the X on top icon makes it unclear what it is.First look, the Icon didnt convey anything and we had to figure what the icon since default IME state is off. Minor UX feedback
Created attachment 9395 [details] alternative icon for inactive Narayam Attached an alternative for the inactive icon. Does it look ok for you?
Will be addressed one way or another soon.
Lowering priority pending UI redesign.
Created attachment 10187 [details] Screenshot of extension active on ml.wikipedia I've attached an example of what this currently looks like on ml.wikipedia. Imho it currently looks horrible. It's grabbing a lot of attention with it's darkness and bold red strike. Tells me more like "Your input method is broken, buy a new keyboard!"
Lowering priority on high priority bugs that have a low severity

The red line through the pencil being gone makes the pencil visible. However both the current and your version imho share a bigger issue, the fact that not having made a choice is considered an "error" or "alert". This leaves ambiguity and unclearness. Right now it is telling me "You cannot/may not/not allowed to/unable to/... edit this page", whereas all it should say is "You haven't chosen a custom input method helper yet". I'd recommend going for a dimmed icon (grey/disabled look) and making the "active" icon more interesting, rather than the opposite.
Narayam is deprecated in favor of Universal Language Selector.
Santhosh: Does that mean that you would refuse patches to fix this issue in Narayam?
