Description Robin Pepermans (SPQRobin) 2011-09-21 15:41:03 UTC
Instead of $wgBabelCategoryNames and $wgBabelMainCategory, local MediaWiki namespace pages should be used for configuration, to avoid unnecessarily long arrays of configuration (it's often the same on wikis in the same language, so those message could then be translated on TWN).
Comment 1 Siebrand Mazeland 2011-09-21 19:11:19 UTC
I think we once had this, and it was then put in configuration. Not sure why/when/by whom. Best check the svn log.
Comment 2 Robert Leverington 2011-09-21 19:39:10 UTC
I intentionally moved this in to LocalSettings.php configuration.

Changing the category names can potentially trigger the autocreation of several tens of thousands of categories, so is not an action that should be taken with haste or to risk administrators making a mistake on or edit warring over.

(Closing WONTFIX.)
