Description Van de Bugger 2011-09-28 19:10:42 UTC
After installing AntiSpoof to an MediaWiki-powered site, it does not prevent creating new users with names similar to already existing ones. For example, if user "Root" exited before installing AntiSpoof, the latter will not prevent creating user "R00t" because "spoofuser" table is empty.

At the first run AntiSpoof should fulfill the table with names of already existing users. Alternatively, there should be a script to fulfill the "spoofuser" table manually, and installation instructions should mention about the script.

There is - if you run the batchAntiSpoof.php maintenance script, that will do the same job
Comment 2 Van de Bugger 2011-09-28 19:23:37 UTC
It does not work for me because there is no a word about the script in installation instructions. You should not close the bug until instruction is updated.

That doesn't make sense. The script will work for you if you actually run it

Wikis are editable, you could have updated that yourself with your new-found knowledge
