Enter an invalid username in Special:UserSignup page, and we expect a message "Invalid Username" along with the Username text box. It shows nothing there.
Usernames tried: 
1. #abcd 
2. തോട്ടിങ്ങല്‍

Firebug console showed this error: POST http://localhost/wiki/api.php 500 (Internal Server Error)

And Apache log showed this error:

PHP Fatal error:  Call to a member function idForName() on a non-object in /media/C0DE/wiki/extensions/SignupAPI/includes/ApiValidateSignup.php on line 32, referer: http://localhost/wiki/index.php?title=Special:UserSignup&setlang=en
