The readme file included with the extension declares that: "This extension is currently experimental and almost certainly won't work for you (yet). We anticipate having a working version in late October / early November 2010. Contact Neil Kandalgaonkar <neilk@wikimedia.org> for more info." While it is correct in saying that it's not working for me November 2010 has been long gone. It also conflicts with the statement on [[mw:Extension:UploadWizard]] saying that this is a stable extension that can be used with a high traffic wikis.
I've just noticed that this only applies for the 1.17.x snapshot.
AFAIK the 1.17.x snapshot in fact isn't stable and shouldn't be expected to work reliably. No idea whether the actual current versions work on a stock 1.17 or not.
So we probably shouldn't let people download it from mw:Extension:UploadWizard
(In reply to comment #3) > So we probably shouldn't let people download it from mw:Extension:UploadWizard I think that is a separate bug since we generally make a snapshot of the subversion tree when we branch a release. How this is handled is likely to change in the coming months. Further the README in SVN has no mention of November 2010.
