There is still a TODO comment in startup.js.
On de.wikipedia there is a report that javascript crashes an Opera 9.10.521. The comments in startup.js still say jQuery is compatible with Opera 9+, but it's 10+ by now, see http://docs.jquery.com/Browser_Compatibility, http://docs.jquery.com/index.php?title=Browser_Compatibility&diff=prev&oldid=20661

Michael, could you point to the dewiki crash reports?
Comment 3 Sam Reed (reedy) 2012-02-09 22:30:14 UTC
We only support Opera 10+
