Description Gerard Meijssen 2011-10-17 08:01:57 UTC
Note: You must be using Cherokee Unicode Supported Fonts to view this site. Information on obtaining and installing Cherokee Unicode Fonts for Windows 2000 and Windows XP is available on the Cherokee Unicode page. Mac OS X from version 10.3 (Panther), Windows Vista, 7 and the GNU/Linux Operating System include default support for displaying the Cherokee Language in syllabary.

So have it in WebFonts

Need more info. We need specific information on which font need to be added.
http://chr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Unicode lists many fonts, but we are not sure what the community prefers. Of course , it needs to be a free licensed font.

Christopher Harvey's Aboriginal Sans or Serif fonts are GPLed, but may not be optimal for webfont since it is not for Cherokee alone(contains many other scripts).
Comment 4 Siebrand Mazeland 2011-10-27 07:34:57 UTC
Please provide direct links to the fonts and their licenses that you are proposing to be added to WebFonts.
Comment 5 Gerard Meijssen 2011-10-27 12:51:30 UTC

Need more information(Font, upstream , license information) to act on this bug.
Comment 7 Kartik Mistry 2013-07-11 08:39:00 UTC
Yes. http://www.languagegeek.com/font/fontdownload.html#Cherokee isn't GPL if we look into font file. It seems having proprietary license attached with it.
Comment 8 Amir E. Aharoni 2013-07-11 08:47:02 UTC
It's possible to extract the Cherokee block from FreeSans, similarly to what was done with Divehi.
