Current iOS app is a pain to maintain; see about getting the PhoneGap-based one generalized and retool the iOS app on the same base code.

Recommend doing this before investing too much more work on the old iOS codebase.

Pull request with work in progress:

https://github.com/nitobi/Wikipedia/pull/48

When we actually try to load articles into the iframe they get loaded in Safari instead; see links on commit messages or the pull request to some mailing list posts & bug reports which seem to indicate this may be a regression in PhoneGap 1.1.0 and/or updating to XCode 4.2.

I hope that tasted better coming up than going down.

Broken out remaining issues to separate bugs:

bug 32068 -- need non-Android menu
bug 32069 -- articles loading in Safari instead of iframe
