Since the renaming of Image namespace to File, it was translated on Serbian Wikipedia (and other Serbian language wikis) as Фајл [Fajl]. However, recently for some reason it appeared as Датотека [Datoteka]. This change has not been approved by the Serbian Wikimedia community, and anyway it breaks all the existing wikilinks and external links to Wikimedia projects. Similar thing happened to MediaWiki namespace, that got renamed from МедијаВики [MedijaViki] to Медијавики [Medijaviki], again without community consensus and with link breakage. I have managed to track the change to this diff: r1=87636&r2=87640">http://svn.mediawiki.org/viewvc/mediawiki/trunk/phase3/languages/messages/MessagesSr_ec.php?r1=87636&r2=87640 and I don't really understand how did it happen - why the Fajl namespace wasn't there already, and why did Datoteka namespace replace it just now? Either way, this needs to be fixed. I have reverted to the old namespace names in Special:AdvancedTranslate on the TranslateWiki, and I could even patch MessagesSr_ec.php if that is needed. But this change should be deployed to Serbian Wikimedia projects ASAP. Note that even if the community approves of such a change in future, the existing namespace names should remain as aliases, which is not the case now.
As far as I can see the namespace itself has never been translated to Фајл.
And what comes to the case change to mediawiki, that should not broke any links - I can clearly see aliases being added and namespace names should be case insensitive anyway. Please provide examples where this is broken.
It seems that Фајл namespace indeed never existed - I could swear that it did, and other people told me they remember it too :) I will close this bug, and reop if the community expresses desire for Фајл.
