Description Brion Vibber 2011-10-31 17:39:11 UTC
I can go through the form and click 'yes' on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/?mobileaction=opt_in_mobile_site in the Android stock browser, but it doesn't appear to take effect -- I still see the old interface, with no search suggestions, language selector, or main/random links.

It's possible something is interfering because Firefox is set as my default browser (mostly) and I get prompted for which browser to use on a lot of links and form submissions. But I do still get all the way through within the Android browser...

I notice that the form is on en.wikipedia.org while the mobile site is on en.m.wikipedia.org; are the cookies being set right?

Can't get it to work in Opera Mobile 11.50 either on the same phone -- I click through the opt-in selection, then see the same old mobile interface.

(Nexus 1, Android 2.3.6). Opera Mobile doesn't prompt me with browser selection, so it shouldn't be doing anything funny.

Same problem in Safari on first-gen iPad running iOS 5. (This also exhibits the bug 32079 behavior, requiring you to manually jump back to the mobile view.)

Ok it looks like they may *be* activating, but you can't easily tell because most of the new UI is hidden (wtf!)

Need to file another bug that they're not hidden on Firefox... :)

bug 32089 for the FF issue.

Its super easy to tell if your in the beta or not. If the W has the text beta then your in .. otherwise something else has gone wrong.
