The highlight ring when focused in the search box on Android stock browser shows around the actual <input> and excludes the area with the X/clear button.

Should be possible to disable the main highlight ring and add a custom one around the expanded control.

The input on the search box has related border issues in Firefox -- see bug 32081.

The highlight ring was removed in 5b5aefdd
