The search UI on MobileFrontend is getting very cluttered; there are a lot of very small controls placed right next to each other, making it difficult to target them with our bulky hu-man meat thumbs.

For instance the "X" clear icon, the magnifying glass button, and the "+" query build button for the first suggestion item are all within a few pixels of each other, and I am not confident in my ability to hit any of them reliably without hitting the wrong one.

There is an easy way to fix this and its what Bing.com does. They take over the full browser area and only show a search interface maximizing the available interface area. You can easily see it if you go to bing on a mobile device.

I heartily endorse this -- the bing guys have done a bang-up job at making their search interface REALLY ATTRACTIVE on a small screen, at least in iPhone and Android stock browsers.
