Description Ryan Lane 2011-11-05 21:37:13 UTC
It's confusing to know which classes and variables are needed, and what their meaning is sometimes. Having a description of what the class or variable does would be nice.

Additionally, if we have groupings (bug #32222) for classes and variables, the grouping should have descriptions as well.

This is sort of fixed by the links to doc.wikimedia.org. Of course, most of those doc pages are blank...
Comment 3 Silke Meyer (WMDE) 2013-01-31 11:17:01 UTC
I think, it would be clearer to have descriptions right above input fields and even to be able to rearrange the fields for variables in a clearer way.

If I have different roles to choose from but variables that are required for some roles only, the interface is confusing. Especially for people who did not write the puppet files themselves.
(Wikidata example: I choose to install a repo, which is the fourth role in a list of four checkboxes. For this, I only need to fill in the 2nd out of four input fields.) Direct descriptions would help but ideally input fields for variables could even be grouped underneath the checkboxes they belong to.
