Screenshot of the article issues

When I am viewing mobile Wikipedia pages, the "article issues" that appear at the top of the page are distracting and take up far too much space. I have attached a photo as an example.

Perhaps the issues could be pushed to the bottom? Or shown as a one-line banner that expands when clicked?

When I visit the Wikipedia page I want to read the article, not the issues.

Aren't they big boxes at the top of the page on purpose? Like so people know there's huge problems with the article and THEY SHOULD NOT TRUST IT without further investigation?
Comment 2 gleitz 2011-11-16 00:47:18 UTC
My issue is that the boxes obscure the content, and TONS of pages have the boxes. Why are the boxes so wordy? Wouldn't a simple "This article has issues" at the top of the page suffice?

I think that makes sense (with a link to the issues) for smaller screens.

These are templates that are created and used by the local community. How is this a software bug?
Comment 5 gleitz 2012-04-19 19:54:50 UTC
Sorry for the ignorance, but how do I edit or request an edit of the template?
Comment 6 Dan Collins 2012-04-19 20:12:11 UTC
Go to the page, i.e., http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Undying_Land

Click "edit"

Locate the desired template, i.e., {{orphan}}

Go to the template page, i.e., http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Orphan

Click edit and edit, or

Click view source and request that changes be made on the talk page. Use the {{editprotected}} template and then specify the changes you'd like made, or

If your changes apply to all of the ambox templates, which are the templates with that sort of style, go to the Ambox core template page, which is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Ambox/core , click view source, determine what changes must be made, and propose them on the talk page. If your changes are mobile-browser-specific, then maybe you need some custom CSS for mobile browsers only which affects the ambox CSS class. If none of this makes sense to you, ask on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:VPT
