I've create custom skin "Skinname" by cloning Vector.php as Skinname.php and changes in code - "vector" to "skinname" + changes in screen.css:

PHP Fatal error:  Call to a member function getGroup() on a non-object in /var/www/mediawiki-1.18/w/includes/OutputPage.php on line 2958

You probably didn't define the skins.skinname module in Resources.php .

Marking INVALID, this is not a bug. If you're looking for support for cloning the Vector skin, feel free to ask questions in #mediawiki on irc.freenode.net or on the wikitech-l mailing list.
