Description Doug 2011-12-03 22:53:59 UTC
$wgAllowCopyUploads currently sideloads the file with no reference to the source page unless one is entered into the description manually. A link to source would be very useful and should probably be default on, as it was expected - and has also been mentioned on the Manual talk for the option, so I'm not the only one; though I can imagine where one might not want to link back to the source in some cases. The first time I used this, I was quite surprised that it didn't give me a way to get back to the source image.

It would be particularly nice if it could check for a parameter |source= and append the url there if it exists.
