In Iceweasel. There's a conflict between this and VisualEditor's "Move cursor by words or blocks".

This is actually not a bug in the software, the documentation in the help panel was incorrect. You should be able to move cursor by words or blocks using Ctrl (on pc) or Option (on mac) - not Alt.
