W3C validator fails on en.wikipedia.org, de.wikipedia.org, fr.wikipedia.org -- probably others, with the same 3 errors. Output on en.wikipedia.org using http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=en.wikipedia.org&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0 Validation Output: 3 Errors Error Line 2, Column 33: there is no attribute "class" <html lang="en" dir="ltr" class="client-nojs" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xht… Error Line 342, Column 10: end tag for "ul" which is not finished </ul> Error Line 367, Column 10: end tag for "ul" which is not finished </ul> Don't know whether this is Wikipedia-specific or a more general MediaWiki issue.

It was dropped in HTML5. (HTML5 is supported by MediaWiki but not yet enabled on Wikipedia for compatibility reasons.) > Error Line 342, Column 10: end tag for "ul" which is not finished > > </ul> > Error Line 367, Column 10: end tag for "ul" which is not finished > > </ul> > This is another stupid HTML4-ism that was dropped in HTML5. This bug has been reported many times, see bug 23015 and its duplicates. > Don't know whether this is Wikipedia-specific or a more general MediaWiki > issue. It's a general MediaWiki thing.
