in the following case, WikiEditor's headings dropdown operates incorrectly.

1. Edit a new article on English Wikipedia right now (MediaWiki 1.18) using Internet Explorer 8.
2. Type "abc" on the first line
3. Position the cursor at the beginning of the edit box (to the left of the "a" in "abc")
4. In the Advanced toolbar, use the headings dropdown and choose "Level 2".
5. A Level 2 heading gets inserted like this:

== Heading text ==

The words "Heading Text" should be highlighted, but "eading text " is highlighted, including the final space character.

This is new in MediaWiki 1.18.0 -- it does not happen in 1.17.1.

See attached screenshot showing the use case above.
Comment 1 Dan Barrett 2011-12-19 21:44:50 UTC
This happens for all heading levels.

It does not happen in Firefox 8.0.

It does not happen for headings on other lines in the edit box -- only in the first line, and only if there is text on the first line, to the right of the insertion point.

"high" for regression, marking for test
Comment 3 Derk-Jan Hartman 2014-05-10 08:56:36 UTC
