Description Tisza Gergő 2011-12-22 22:23:18 UTC
Name should be Gergő, instead it is Gerg?. Here is the source of the mail:
http://paste2.org/p/1835110

(Also, the message is in English, even though there is a Hungarian translation, and I made all my donations from Hungary.)

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. It's likely UTF-8 characters are not being properly handled by the mailing scripts. We'll look into this ASAP.
Comment 2 Peter Gehres 2011-12-22 22:57:44 UTC
I was already looking into the UTF-8 issue and can confirm that your name should have had the proper characters.

As far as the hungarian translation is concerned, I didn't have the time to put in all of the translations due to the fact that we had to write these email scripts from scratch. I wish I could have, but I had to prioritize them based on the number we were sending and then stop when we sent the emails out.

I can confirm that we know you did make your donation from Hungary, but from an english landing page which would result in you getting an english email. Its a known problem, but one we haven't come up with a solution and is likely a result of us lacking a Hungarian translation for the appeal at that time. We apologize for this and out doing our best to make that not the case in the future.

The accent is correct in the current mailing ("So close").

Thanks Tisza!
Comment 5 Peter Gehres 2011-12-30 21:33:45 UTC
It turns out that the table I was using to store the contact information before sending had the wrong encoding. For some reason it was the one table for which I forgot to set the encoding to UTF-8.
