Description Tim 2011-12-24 06:33:07 UTC
When submitting wikimedia edit CAPTCHAs on my iPad with the current version of the English Wikipedia, it auto capitalises the first word and often autocorrects the combined words to two words with a space in between. This makes correctly entering the CAPTCHA a laborious process.

What I'd like is for these behaviours to be disabled at the server end by modifying the HTML form.

The necessary autocorrect and autocapitalize attributes are described here http://www.kromosome.net/iphone-ipad-web-app-development-input-auto-capitalize

I can confirm this for editing captchas on my iPod Touch (iOS 5). Oddly enough, on the create account form this doesn't happen; something else may be disabling it for the whole form or something though the captcha code should be the same.

Done for FancyCaptcha class in r107337 on trunk; marking for merge to 1.18 & deployment branch.

Fix has been pushed, and I can confirm it on en.wikipedia.org on my iPod Touch. Thanks for the bug report!

Confirmed on my iPad in the English Wikipedia sandbox.
Thanks for the quick turnaround!
