Since Wikipedia switched to the 1.18 branch, minor edits are not marked on the top level of the advanced recent changes list (that is, the "a" is there in the collapsible part when there were multiple edits to the same page, but it is missing when there was only one edit to that page).
How do you get to "advanced recent changes"? I'm looking at what I guess is the regular recent changes and don't see any "a" at all. I've changed the title of the bug ... does it still look accurate?
ok, I think I see what you're talking about now. When I only have one minor edit in the RC, it isn't marked as minor.
Advanced recent changes can be enabled with Preferences / Recent changes / Enhanced recent changes (though I think it has been the default for quite a while). When disabled, every change is a different line in the RC, and the "m" marks appear as they should. When enabled, multiple edits to the same page are collapsed into a single item and can be revealed by a mouse click. The "m" marks appear before the revealed items, bot not before the single items. E. g.: Old-style recent changes: m Page1 Page2 Page3 Page4 m Page3 Page4 Enhanced recent changes, expected result: m Page1 Page2 > Page3 edit1 m edit2 > Page4 edit1 edit2 Enhanced recent changes, actual result ("m" missing in first row): Page1 Page2 > Page3 edit1 m edit2 > Page4 edit1 edit2
The watchlist is affected, too. (Which isn't surprising, since it uses the same code.)
Fixed with MediaWiki 1.19. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 31408 ***
