Description Wojciech Różanek 2012-01-06 12:33:20 UTC
I want create list called "mediawiki-pl" - Polish Mailing List about MediaWiki.
Comment 1 Philippe Beaudette 2012-01-07 15:45:21 UTC
To be clear, this is about Mediawiki, specifically, not the Wikimedia projects?
Comment 2 Wojciech Różanek 2012-01-07 16:31:49 UTC
Yes
Comment 3 Philippe Beaudette 2012-01-07 16:33:51 UTC
I don't mind setting up a list, but I don't want to create a list that doesn't have a need... can you point me toward a discussion somewhere to demonstrate a need?
Comment 4 Thehelpfulone 2012-04-30 23:18:26 UTC
Leaving a comment here to poke the mailing list request, the only other language variant of the mediawiki- mailing list that I can see is mediawiki-sv and from the list archives, http://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/mediawiki-sv/, you can see that it is a very inactive list.

I can not answer this question. Please clarify it.

Philippe is asking if there's a been a discussion for this mailing list somewhere to show that there is a need for this mailing list and that it will be actively used. Due to the fact that mediawiki-l already exists, is there a page somewhere that shows that this mailing list will be actively used for MediaWiki discussions in Polish - i.e. Are there users that will be actually be using this mailing list to send emails in Polish?
Comment 7 Marcin Cieślak 2012-05-14 17:52:00 UTC
I have sent inquiry to the two obvious places I know, the Polish Wikipedia mailing list (wikipl-l@) as well as technical village pump of the Polish Wikipedia. Not sure if such a forum already exists; but I think I would join the forum personally (mostly to support users).

There is no need to set up this list. I do not know anyone who is actively involved in it.
