Description Liangent 2012-01-10 00:09:19 UTC
In the search suggest list it shows an icon without text and after that it returns "Bad title" but what I want to do is a search.

Also other special chars such as pipes.

and these "bad title" pages can be saved and loading them causes error.
Comment 2 Brion Vibber 2012-01-10 00:46:37 UTC
I don't see "Bad title", just that single entry with an icon but no text... which for me (on English) loads the 'grave accent' article.

Setting to Chinese, the single entry I see is labled "+++", and doesn't load (I see the 'sorry, no page by that name exists' indicating a 404 error on load)

Don't choose that entry from the list but press "Go" in soft keyboard directly. (TouchPal)

Ok, I can confirm that.
Comment 5 Brion Vibber 2012-01-10 21:05:38 UTC
Looks like 'bad title' doesn't return an HTTP error, either straight or via MobileFrontend:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%23 - 200 OK
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/%23 - 200 OK

so the client has no idea anything's wrong. :(
Comment 6 Brion Vibber 2012-01-10 21:09:31 UTC
Added bug 33646 as a dep.
Comment 7 Phil Chang 2012-01-26 17:53:16 UTC
Brion, it look alike the underlying Mediawiki dependency was fixed. Can we close this?
Comment 8 Brion Vibber 2012-01-26 17:57:58 UTC
Doesn't appear to have been deployed yet, so there would be no visible change or fix yet.
Comment 9 Yuvi Panda 2012-02-07 08:18:38 UTC
Hitting 'Go' no longer takes people to the direct page title, so this has been fixed.
