Description Subfader 2012-01-12 08:08:46 UTC
On http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Cache#PHP_caching it reads:
Note: Any version of eAccelerator will work for PHP caching but if you also want to use it for Object caching as well, you need version 0.9.5 (later versions are not compatible).

Can't that be fixed? It's ok when MediaWiki doesn't support years old PHP versions but not when it forces users to use old versions of software like eAccelerator.

If a host works perfect he offers latest software versions. But because of MediaWiki I can't use caching now. Inacceptable

No it can't be fixed. Besides looking dead project, they also removed support for object caching.

Too bad. Will tell my IT department.
