Description Bergi 2012-01-29 23:14:43 UTC
Reading the docs at [[mw:Extension:FeaturedFeeds/WMF deployment]], I had assumed that the extension stores the current version (of the page which Mediawiki:ffeed-*-page expands to) each day in a new perma-linkable place. This store would grow larger with the time, and the items in it would never get touched again.

But the store items seem to be updated instead of beeing stable. The German Wikipedia currently has 7 templates (each for one week day), which rotate the aotd contents. As the number of these templates is smaller than $wgFeaturedFeedsDefaults=>limit, some articles show up several times in the feed, and the content of the "permalinks" changes each day.

The sentence "The extension creates a permanent link for each feed entry (e.g. [[q:it:Speciale:FeedItem/qotd/20120117000000/it]]) even if the feed is loaded from a single template." sounded as it would work with only one template. Or what is "even" supposed to mean in here?
